Karl’s Event Services is excited to support the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Gala taking place at Rockefeller Center in New York City.  Karl’s installed a 39m x 31m structure at a custom 12° pitch for the event and wrapped it with a custom 21’ tall fabric façade.  Karl’s created the façade with special-order trademark Tiffany Blue fabric.  The entrance was enhanced by a giant replica of the Tiffany & Co. blue gift box and white bow.  Because of the unique logistics and multi-elevation site, Karl’s supported the event installation around the clock for the past six days to prepare for tonight’s gala. 

Karl's Event Services was recently acquired by UK based event company, Arena Group.  Arena is a leading provider of temporary structures, seating, design and overlay services to support delivery of live events such as, the London Olympics, Wimbledon, and Abu Dhabi Formula 1.  Karl’s has been in the U.S. since 1966 and supports a variety of events including some of the most prestigious sporting, corporate and private events in the country including NFL Super Bowl, Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, as well as PGA and NASCAR events.

Karl’s Event Services has been preparing for Speedweeks and the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event, the Daytona 500, at the Daytona International Speedway.  For the past few weeks, Karl’s has been installing various tents for corporate and fan hospitality venues at the track along with merchandise stores.  Karl’s was also contracted to install a 60m (197’) wide clearspan structure for the Budweiser 1876 Activation at the event.  Karl’s is one of only a few providers in Florida who owns this large of a structure.  Budweiser will be using the 60m structure as an interactive lounge taking the consumer through a 3-step exposure to the brand including brand history and product samplings.

Karl’s Event Services is one of only a few providers of the 60m structure throughout the nation and has provided it for various other events along the east and west coasts and throughout the Midwest.  In recent months, Karl’s has successfully completed a number of national and local events including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Super Bowl XLVII.  Karl’s also holds two Guinness World Records for work at the Frieze Art Fair in New York.

The Gala Awards have been given by Special Events magazine since 1986 and recognize the most exciting event work from companies worldwide. 

Karl’s was amongst 340 entries in 34 award categories from Canada, China, Columbia, Denmark, Germany, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.  Members of the Special Events Magazine Advisory Board spent two days selecting the finalists and winners.

Karl’s Event Services was nominated for and awarded Best Achievement in Event Rental Support for work at the Frieze Art Fair on Randall’s Island NY in May 2012.  Karl’s designed a clearspan structure from both custom and existing components to house over 180 contemporary art galleries for the three day event.  Six 50m x 60m (164’ x 197’) clearspan structures were connected by triangular wedges to create a snake-like design for the event space.  The structure was installed over a stage made up of 18,000 Bil-Jax flooring pieces that had to be leveled up to six feet in some spots.  Karl’s received two Guinness World Records for the project – largest single-unit marquee at 226,795.77 square feet and largest temporary stage at 275,007.44 square feet.

Karl’s is pleased to announce that their clearspan tents in the path of Hurricane Sandy were still standing and in great condition after the devastating effects of the storm earlier this week.  Karl’s had a number of large clearspan structures installed throughout the Northeast before the hurricane struck including locations such as; Lincoln Center, The Pond at Bryant Park, Peter Cooper Village in New York, as well as Patriot Place in Boston.  Jon Tabeling, Karl’s GM for the Northeast said, “This is a testament to how well our structures are engineered and installed.  After Sandy passed, we assessed each event site and were pleased to see that we suffered no damage at all.” 

As well as supporting events for industries such as NFL, MLB, Auto Racing, and even backyard weddings, Karl’s has provided disaster relief support with base-camp infrastructures after hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike and Gustav.

Karl’s Event Services has successfully set the new Guinness World Records for the largest temporary stage and the largest single-unit marquee ever installed. The structure was manufactured and built by Karl’s for the Frieze Art Fair on Randall’s Island in New York City in early May. The nearly 250,000 square foot tent structure was made up of six 50m x 60m (164’ x 197‘) clearspans attached by triangular wedges to provide a snaking design for the event. Over 18,000 bil-jax flooring pieces were used for the stage.

Frieze presented 180 contemporary art galleries in the curved structure. The Frieze Art Fair was started in 2003 as an extension of the art magazine and the event in May was its first time in New York City. Karl’s worked with Frieze for over a year to develop and plan for the project.

Karl’s Event Services is one of the largest providers of structures and rental items in the US. In recent months, Karl’s has successfully completed a number of national and local events including Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and Speedweek and the Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway.

Karl's Event Services is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a five year contract with Calibre to provide services at Fort Irwin International Training Center in California. Karl's will be providing and maintaining climate control equipment, power generation and electrical distribution for over 500,000 square feet of tent structures on base. The 80 tents are Karl's built, Made in the USA, structures and are used for military training exercises.

Karl's Event Services has a fully operational facility in Fort Irwin and has provided custom clearspan tenting, HVAC and power generation equipment for the past eight years.  According to Jon Tabeling, Karl's VP/GM, "Karl's is excited to work with Calibre on this project and to continue supporting our soldiers throughout their training exercises."

Karl's extensive experience ranges from disaster and military relief including service at Fort Irwin, Fort Sill and Fort Hood to national events including the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, past eight Super Bowls, NASCAR races and various golf tournaments.

Karl's Event Services has provided a custom clearspan structure for the 38th annual Macy's Flower Show on Broadway Plaza in New York City.  The custom structure was specially designed to fit in the street and be tall enough to house the unique flower displays.  In addition to the custom clearspan tent, Karl's also provided flooring, HVAC, and gable graphics for the event.

The show is taking place inside the custom tent while Macy's Flagship store undergoes construction over the next 2-3 years.  The new space provided the opportunity to include some unique lighting, music and water elements to highlight this year's theme, "Brazil - Gardens in Paradise".  The show runs from March 25 through April 7.

Karl's Event Services has been awarded a three year contract with the Daytona International Speedway to provide tents for the various events held at the track throughout the year.

Karl's recently provided tents for the Rolex 24, Speedweeks, and the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event, the Daytona 500.  The tents were used for corporate and fan hospitality venues at the track, merchandise stores, official NASCAR inspection tent and a "tent city" for the front stretch hospitality village.

According to Jimmy Parks, Karl's Vice President of National Sales, "Karl's is excited to work with the Daytona International Speedway, the 'World Center of Racing', for their upcoming events.  It was a pleasure to work with the Daytona team to prepare for the first races of the season and we are excited to continue this relationship for the next three years."
