Event
Ideas
Masquerade New Year’s Eve Party
Tired of the same ol’ same ol’ for your New Year’s
Eve celebration? Plan this year’s event to be a masquerade!
Begin by selecting a slogan such as “MMM – Midnight
Masquerade Magic” or “2004-Masquerade on the Dance Floor”.
The color theme should be coordinated with the invitations such
as purchasing inexpensive paper masques and writing the details
in gold or silver. Think black/gold/purple … purple/green/gold
… blue/silver/teal! Another suggestion would be to enclose
a mask in the invitation, have the guests decorate the mask and
wear it to the party. A black tie affair and fancy dresses suggests
a more formal atmosphere but the mystery behind the masks generates
intrigue and enthusiasm. At midnight “unmask” the New
Year and let everyone “unmask” themselves! Decorate
with baubles and beads, sequins and rhinestones, feathers and balloons!
Give awards to the best costume, best mask, best performer, most
quiet, most interesting. Keep the music playing by changing the
theme every hour (begin with string quartet, classical, light rock,
big band, 50’s & 60’s, and as midnight approaches
play classic rock ‘n roll as the finale’. Have a photographer
take pictures of each guest or have a caricaturist draw each person’s
cartoon as a souvenir of your one-of-a-kind party. Karl’s
Event Rental can provide gold or silver lame’ tablecloths,
gold or silver chiavari chairs, silver candelabras, china and flatware
to create an elegant party.

Milwaukee, WI 53203

www.maders.com
America’s
largest Hummel Store and the famous German Restaurant have expanded
to include catering services. A Milwaukee tradition since 1902,
dine in this historic downtown restaurant where guests from all
of the world have dined, including Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Audrey
Hepburn, Paul Newman, John F. Kennedy, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan.
When thinking of Mader's, one thinks of their superb reputation
"German Cuisine". With a new executive chef and a new
menu, Mader's continues to specialize in European cuisine, as well
as a more continental menu of steaks and seafood. Mader's has also
implemented a banquet and catering company, serving 50 to 5,000
persons, that specializes in rehearsals, weddings, cocktail parties,
box lunches, and social and corporate events.
Restaurant diners
will enjoy the unique mid-evil atmosphere showcasing 17th century
armor and weaponry. With four private dining rooms, Mader's can
accommodate groups of 100 persons or a romantic dinner for two and
is open 365 days a year. Lunch and dinner menus available. Sunday
Champagne Brunch. Motor coach parking available. FREE valet parking.
Reservations can be made by calling 414-271-3377. One of their first
events was for Miller Brewing Company catering an elegant four-course
dinner for 60 executives in the Miller caves. These caves are part
of the Miller Brewery tour, and have not hosted a “closed”
event since the 1950’s.
Beginning November
1st, take in a bit of “basketball tailgating” by stopping
by the clearspan tent in Mader’s parking lot for the Milwaukee
Bucks home games. The 33’ x 33’ heated clearspan will
be host to food, music, beer, and other fun festivities both before
and after each home game in November. Stop by and support Mader’s
Restaurant and your Milwaukee Bucks.
