Place
Boerner Botanical Gardens on the list of venues when you are deciding
where to hold your next event or meeting. There are many options
at the Gardens for your event for two people or two hundred. Visit
the arboretum, annual garden, perennial garden, rose garden, herb
garden, daylily path, bog walk, rock garden, shrub mall, peony garden,
trial garden, garden house, gift shop, or the plant doctor inside
the Garden House. The Gardens have evolved over the last sixty years
however, maintaining and mainstreaming this living garden requires
extensive work and research. The gardens provide child and adult
education classes, special events and a place for your entire family
to enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty. New dreams and goals are
being realized with the opening of the new Education and Visitors
Center, which will generate additional tourism, civic partnerships,
and continued botanical educational needs in the area.
For
the 2003 season, there will be an admission charge to the Gardens
($4 adult, 18 and older; $3 any age with disability; $3 over 60
years; $2 age 6-17. Entrance and parking fees to the Education and
Visitor Center are free.
There
are four rental room/hall choices: Boerner Hall, Garden Room, Multimedia
Room, and classrooms. For specific capacities, please contact the
Gardens. Catering privileges have been exclusively assigned to Bartolotta
Catering Company, 414-525-5635.
Wedding
ceremony sites are available south of the Herb Garden, south of
the Rock Garden, west of the Rose Arbor, the gazebo in the Annual
Garden and west of the Education & Visitor Center however, rental
of the entire gardens is not allowed. Since the gardens are open
to the public, none of these sites are completely private. A ceremony
permit, which includes a photography permit, is required and can
be obtained from the Botanical Gardens.
